There’s a rising star, and then there’s a comet that, instead of forging a one-way path up to the heavens, exists in blazing orbit. Cue Pippa Bennett-Warner, an actress who has been blinking onto our TVs, lighting up the big screens and gracing the boards of British theatres for over two decades. And much like the star-shaped fine jewellery from Chanel she wears across these pages, Bennett-Warner’s radiance only gets brighter. She’s currently starring in the second season of Gangs of London and recently appeared in the film See How They Run alongside Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody and Ruth Wilson. If you were lucky (or a keen star-gazer) you may have been an early witness to her performance in 2010, at the age of only 22, as Cordelia in Michael Grandage’s King Lear alongside Derek Jacobi.
For this issue, we cast Bennett-Warner in a more natural role, that of herself. Make-up artist Kay Montano produced a subtle and elegant glow with CHANEL Demander La Lune and CHANEL Le Lift Pro beauty collections. Bennett-Warner put it best: “Kay Montano and CHANEL Beauty? Two icons. It was a dream!”
She’s maintaining light-speed velocity. This year she’ll appear in Stephen Moyer’s A Bit of Light alongside Anna Paquin, and is shooting two upcoming TV projects: explosive miniseries Damage and the gothic series Entitled, with Brett Gelman. The astrological calendar seems to predict even brighter times ahead. ◉
