Published by the aptly named Heavy Books and adorned with red and white hazard tape, Constructs is a book that deals in urban infrastructure. Drawing from deconstructionist theory, Swedish photographer Carl Ander manipulates his subjects through time and space, toying with “the false relationship to reality that the medium has”, as he describes it. Rather than a series of vignettes of urban landscapes, what emerges is a thoughtful, reflexive study of photography through the lens of construction – a work that is at once meditative and always in motion.
